Bashas Doubling Coupons including $1 coupons

WOW - In California this type of deal was the norm where all the grocery stores doubled coupons up to $1 meaning the $1 off coupons got doubled up to $2 off. In Arizona I have noticed that all the grocery store double coupons up to $1 meaning (in most cases) fifty cent coupons get doubled to $1, 35 cent coupons equal 70 cents off and between 51 cents and $1 you get $1 off. Well this week starting today at Bashas they are doubling the $1 coupons to $2 off. So get out your coupon containers and lets save some money.

Today's out of pocket was high considering we normally don't spend a lot at the grocery stores but we were able to buy so much stuff. I estimate that before discounts and coupons and club card savings our total would have been approx $175.00 and after all coupons and discounts we spent out of pocket $54.73 because we bought some larger packs of paper products such as toilet paper and paper towels.

175.00 less $34.21 club card savings, less $3 vendor coupons, less $27.65 scanned coupons and $42.13 store coupons and $13.28 in other discounts making a savings of 69%

We had so many $1 off coupons some products created an overage (when the amount of the total coupon savings exceeds the value of the item) one example being pasta noodles that were on sale for $1.49 we had $1 off coupon that doubled and took $2 off the total order.

Always be on the lookout for coupon books in the stores on displays and from people passing out samples. Always be nice to the samplers and try to get as many coupons from them as you can. We picked up some $1 off 8th continent soy milk from a sampler at Albertsons and used the coupons at Bashas to get $2 off where as at Albertsons it would have been just $1 off.

Also how to tell if a coupon will be doubles (information deemed accurate but not guaranteed) if the barcode begins with a 9 it will usually not double...

Also be sure to visit Bashas website and get on their email mailing list. They sent out a $5 of $30 coupon. So what we should have done is split the order into two orders and used 2 of the coupons and saved an additional $5 and increased our savings percentage a couple of points. Oh well, there is always next week.

Some of the better deals we got were Crystal Light $.50 a box, Free Pasta Noodles, Bagelfuls for $.50 a box, Bar S Sausages for $.25 per pack, Kraft Mayo $.49 each, Kraft Easy Mac $FREE, Kraft Velvetta Shells and Cheese $.19 each, Pillsburry had some managers markdowns of $2 each plus throw in the coupons we had for $1 off and that was a good deal. They also had some molases on clearance for $1.50 a bottle.

Good luck and Good Savings
